Biography
Pastor Fredrick M Craig, Sr. was born in Buffalo, NY September 10, 1970 and is the eldest of four children. As a young child, he and his grandmother resided in Selma, Alabama then moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age and his journey led him to become a member of the Mt. Sinai Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church where he was later baptized by the late Rev. Joseph Fuller, Jr..
In 1991, his 5-year service in the United States Marine Corps, brought him to New London, CT and to the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He immediately became active in the music ministry and upon receiving his call to the Ministry of the Gospel, became an Associate Minister. He became a part of various ministries and choirs, Director of the Youth Bible Study, Musician & Director for the Gospel Chorus and Chancel Choirs.
In 1998 he received confirmation on his call to the ministry of preaching. After graduating in 1999 from the Theological Seminary at Hartford, CT. He preached his initial sermon that November. His unique, anointed preaching style has made him known throughout Connecticut and has allowed his ministry to be heard along the east coast.
Pastor Craig’s gifts and talents allowed him to serve the New London area with zeal and excellence. He has served at the Waterford Country School, Garde Arts Institute, Mitchell College and the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention. His distinctive Ministry of Music has enabled him to share the stage, meet and minister with some of Gospel music’s legends throughout the years.
He was ordained as an Elder in the United Holy Church of America in July 2010 and was installed and served as Youth Pastor at Holy Zion Church. He then became an ordained Elder in the Church of God In Christ in 2015. While serving in the Rhode Island Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ, Elder Craig heeded to the call of Pastorate and while under the guidance of Bishop James W. Keith. Pastor Craig, with the support of his wife and many others, organized what is now Solid Rock Church of Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
He is married to Lady Shontel L. Craig. Pastor and Lady Craig’s individual ministries complement their mission of God’s calling. Their leadership, example to God, Church and ministry, have impacted the lives and spiritual growth of many people. Together they nurture and support their children and grandchildren.
